4500 OR 5000 by: Major Dave
Alan Great nuggets as for a comparison between the 5000 and the 4500..... I carry both machines in my ute and have often used both on the same day as the ground mineralisation and depth change. For what it is worth I use the 5000 for most tasks and always when the mineralisation is high as it seems to handle the task without effort. I never use larger than 18inch coils on the 5000 as it does not seem to have the energy output to drive a bigger coil (just my opinion) I use the 4500 when the ground is deep and moderately mineralised and generaly with coils between 18 and 25 inches in size. in the last two weeks I have found nuggets of 150gm, 40 gm and 34gm all around Dunolly Vic all in well known and thrashed areas.
