Some Gold nuggets found by Gold Prospecting Seminar People

Gidday Everyone,

There has been a lot of gold nuggets found this season which sorta debunks the theory that there is no gold left because all the ground has been hammered.

Basically if you are targetting the right areas and using the correct technique you will find gold.

Here is a few Photos:

Here is a few pics of gold found by some of our Gold Prospecting Seminar graduates, but we are also hearing of plenty of new gold being found at old detecting places with the SDC2300 the 7000 and the 4500 and 5000 using the new coils like the NuggetFinder Evolution.

Review of the Minelab SDC2300 Metal Detector

We have a page with a video on the SDC2300 just published. You can read it here Minelab SDC2300 Metal Detector - Our Review.

The Benefits of the Minelab SDC2300 Metal Detector

  • Quick to unpack, turn on and start finding gold.
  • Simple to Start up and Use.
  • Finds the small nuggets and specimens that other detectors miss.
  • Small size you can fold up, store and transport easily in a rucksack or your car.
  • Relatively tough.
  • Reasonable price based on Results.

Problems with the Minelab SDC2300 Metal Detector.

  • Not for the Deaf.
  • Badly designed, unprocurable and Fragile Connector for the headphones.
  • To get aftermarket gear like headphones and Booster you have to pay ridiculous prices for the Connector that is sold aftermarket.
  • Batteries can loosen and the machine turns itself off - causing the 2300 to go through the startup process again and again.
  • Headphone lead too short for the Average Aussie. This puts pressure on the fragile connector which will break.

There are fixes for all of the issues outlined on our new page, Minelab SDC2300 Metal Detector. but be very careful if you are just purchasing a SDC2300 and don't have a spare Headphone Connector - we have hear on people breaking the lead on the first use.

Instead tape the lead to the machine to ensure it cannot move.

Best Metal Detector for the WA Goldfields.

We often get asked this question in emails and face to face:

The answer is that it depends on what you want it for, how much you are going to use it and how much you are prepared to pay for it.

The VLF detectors are no good on the hotter WA goldfields so you need a PI (Pulse Induction) metal detector.

We use a number of detectors in our training and work in the field.

We do use the SDC2300 (as well as the Minelab 4500, 5000 and 7000) and it is a good machine for small gold close to the coil, but if you want to get bigger, deeper gold the you need to buy or hire a Minelab GPX5000 or a 7000 which finds bigger gold further from the coil.

The 4500 will get depth depending on the size of the coil but even that is limited with the 11" mono coil that is supplied with it, you need bigger coils to go deeper - there is always a tradeoff between Depth (Deeper, bigger gold) and sensitivity (smaller gold, close to the coil).

Couple this with one of the new Nuggetfinder Evolution coils and it is a good combination.

The 2300 is dynamite on the small gold close to the coil but all detectors are limited to depth based on the size of the coil the 2300 is limited as to how deep it can detect.

It will depend on how much detecting you do as well, if you do it once a year then probably a Minelab SDC2300 is ok but if you do it regularly and are more serious then a GPX 5000 is a great machine and you can get a 5000 second hand for around $4500.

Make sure it is not counterfeit see this page : Minelab - Beware Counterfeit Detectors.

or buy second hand from a Minelab Dealer. I would buy a 5000 if I was starting out to get the best value for performance.

The 7000 Is very serious machine, it is heavy as well but it finds the gold -Its come down in price now but at around $9000 I think you need to be a semi professional to buy it though.

If you are thinking of this path then "hire and try before you buy".

You also have to walk over a deeper nugget to find one as well ;-)

Stories Coming Up - Hearing aids for Metal Detectors, Testing the Nuggetfinder Evolution Coils

NuggetFinder Evolution Coils

We have just purchased a few of the new Nuggetfinder Evolution coils. The coils are currently with Udo and we want to test them to see how they perform in the hot ground at Cue.

We have heard some good reports about them and seen the impact and performance at our Gold prospecting Seminars by people so we are looking forward to using them and seeing how they perform.

Bluetoothing and Hearing Aids Connected to your Metal Detector

Many males over the age of 40 have hearing issues or are pretty deaf, I (Bill) am one of those.

I have just had some hearing tests done and purchased a hearing aid and bluetooth connector which is configured direct to my new hearing aid.

I will test that over the next month (after the APLA AGM) and tell you how it performs.

GoldTracker Rewrite is Nearing Completion

Our programmer is still working on the rewrite of the Goldtracker software to make it easier for you to use and to put much higher resolution maps into the system.

There will also be a lot of extra features available to you as well.

We will send out a special bulletin when that is available to you.

Regards

Udo and Bill

Nobody gets ALL the gold. There’s still plenty left for you.

ps – Just make sure you search for the gold Legally so you don’t have to look over your shoulders all the time!!
